It is best to apply stripes on a warmer day or in a garage with heat. In excessive heat, the stripes will dry too fast. Try to avoid direct sunlight until stripes are squeegeed in place. If it is colder, give the material more time to adhere. 2” gap between stripes

Prep for stripe installation – Buy Masking tape in 1 1/2” width. Use this tape to mark the center of the car, and as a guide for stripes. Make sure you carefully center the tape, as this is your guide for stripe installation. **TIP – You do not need to tape the entire length of the car, just the front and rear edges of each part. ****Lay the stripes ¼” off the tape, as you tape is smaller than the gap, which is set at 2”.

DECAL KIT INSTALLATION – wash car with a sponge to remove all dirt. To make Solution: Mix in a spray bottle 20 ounces of water, 1/4 teaspoon of liquid dish soap and 1/2 teaspoon of rubbing Alcohol.

**Do not get the backing paper wet. After peeling away the wax backing, spray both the surface of the vehicle and the back of the vinyl stripe with solution. Then slide the decal into position and squeegee out bubbles.

Once the stripes have dried, spray the surface of the transfer tape and carefully peel the transfer tape off the stripe. If SMALL bubbles appear after stripes have dried, they will lay down on their own after short exposure to the sun. If they do not lay down after a couple of days, use a fine needle and prick the bubble to release moisture.

***Do not use a car wash that has spinning brushes or cloth, as these can damage stripes. Either hand wash or use a brushless car wash. When waxing, be sure to rub wax in the same direction as stripes, not across seams.

You may find it easier to remove the transfer tape prior to installation for some pieces, such as the bumpers. For pieces that will tuck under a seal or grille, peel the edge of the transfer tape back before sliding it under those surfaces.

NOTES: 1.The rear deck area is in three places, this was the only way to ensure that the average person could do this job. Place the piece that surrounds the emblem first, allow to dry, then apply the other two, with a slight overlap. No one will see it when you are done, they are carefully cut in places to avoid being in the field of view. 2.Almost none of these pieces in this kit are straight: this was necessary to allow for a pleasing look on the complex surfaces when finished.

3.There are TWO sets of front bumper sets in your kit; one is for bumpers with the license plate cutout, the other is for the bumpers without this cutout. Different states have different laws on front license plates, thus there are more than one style bumper.

Notes for individual pieces: 1.hood - make sure the engine has cooled completely before installation!!!!! Otherwise your solution will dry too quickly. The ends are longer than the hood….. leave the ends hanging until dry, then wrap them around to the underside of the hood to complete the installation. You will need to remove the nozzles until stripes are applied, then reinstall.

2.front bumper - these may look a little weird to ya, but if you look, you will see one edge that is curved….. this goes at the top toward the grille, and has a little extra to tuck under that grille, as well as the grille below on most bumpers. Peel the first 1/2” of top transfer tape back before sliding under the grille.

3.roof –Get the top of the car and the stripes very wet.. slide into place so that the stripe just overlaps the rubber seal at the front. This will also leave some overlap in the rear. Once you have squeegeed the stripe down, peel the transfer tape back slightly so you are not sliding transfer tape under the seal. use a table knife or similar NON SHARP object to carefully lift this seal up and tuck the stripe under it. Then in the rear, push the stripe down into the gap.

4.rear deck – the rear deck has to be in two pieces to get the stripe to lay down due to the shape of the deck lid. Locate the pieces that go around the rear emblem and brakelight. Apply these first. LET IT DRY FIRST BEFORE CONTINUING. Then apply the other two pieces, making sure to align the pieces. These overlays will not be visible to anyone standing more than about a foot away. If you are not looking for it, you will never see it. This area was just giving too many people headaches, so we simplified it. The pieces on the top of the deck lid will also need to be wrapped under, with the trunk open, to get the effect.

5.Rear license plate area – make sure you get these aligned with the deck lid pieces before you squeegee them down: you will have a couple ripples right above the license plate area and on one of the outside edges, about ¼” wide. Leave them alone until they are dry and warm, then carefully push them from the point outward with your finger, and they will lay down.

I know these are a lot of directions, but I wanted to be as thorough as possible, as this is a rather complicated set, but if you plan ahead, take your time, and be patient, you can do it, and I wanted to let you know in advance what to expect. PLAN on this taking you a couple days to complete. You do not want to rush it, and while we do recommend professional installation for this set, if you feel confident, you can do it!!!

Once stripes have dried completely, spray transfer tape, allow to soak and release, then remove transfer tape. Note that the ends are not yet adhered - it is easier to apply these ends when stripes have dried and are soft from the sunlight. You will need to work the front edges to get all the air out and rolled around the lip. The rear ends will just wrap around the edge.

THIS IS THE BASIC PROCEDURE FOR THE REST OF THE CAR.

You will initally have edges around the bumpers and the back edge of the spoiler that will look like these. Get the tops of these areas completely applied first, then get your car into sunlight (or if you are familiar with a heat gun and how to use it, it can help) Use your fingers to carefully work with these until they lay down.

The rear deck will look like this once you are done. Make sure you apply the pieces around the faux gas cap first, then the top. You want to do them in this order so that water running off the car runs over edges rather than into them (like shingles on a house) The third brakelight pieces will hang over the third brakelight recess slightly, once dry push these into the area around the brakelight for a better look. ***Tip - the carlite logo on your rear window is perfectly centered, use it to verify you are straight.

Ths is how it will look when you are finished. This car also has 1/2" pinstripes, which can be applied wet or dry.
